Save the Flamingos

With Galapagos Conservation Trust

Flamingos are majestic and iconic birds known for their vibrant pink plumage and distinctive long legs and necks.

They are among the world's most recognisable and beloved avian species.

Found in various parts of the world, including the Galapagos Islands, flamingos thrive in unique ecosystems.

These beautiful birds are synonymous with grace and elegance, captivating nature enthusiasts and birdwatchers alike.

Despite their charismatic appearance, flamingos face serious endangerment.

These striking birds are often threatened by habitat loss, climate change, and pollution.

In some regions, their populations have dwindled due to human activities such as habitat destruction and illegal egg collection.

The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) classifies several flamingo species as either "Near Threatened" or "Vulnerable," highlighting the urgency of conservation efforts.

The Lesser Flamingo, found in some parts of the Galapagos, is considered "Near Threatened" by the IUCN.
