The socks are made in Istanbul, Turkey. Our socks are audited by SEDEX and BSCI. The workers at this factory are all local and full time employees on a legal wage. No workers are under the age of 18, and they work a 45 hour week with no excessive overtime. There is no harassment, discrimination, abuse or forced labour.
The dyed fibre for these socks are supplied to the factory by a company called Akampuk in Turkey, and they have a Standard 100 OEKO-TEX certificate with appendix 6 (this means the fabric has been certified free from harmful substances to human ecology and safe for children and babies). Akampuk receives the raw yarn from a company in Turkey called Selcuk Iplik. You can read how this company is addressing the UN Sustainable development goals. They receive their bamboo supply from Tangshan Sanyou - one of the major bamboo suppliers in China. This has formed part of Canopy's Hot Button Ranking Audit, holding the company accountable to making positive changes in the supply chain, and they have currently labelled it as 'Actively engaging suppliers - no known high risk'.
