Charities supported by our Bare Kind donations

Bare Kind has chosen to support various charities for the Sock Profit Donation programme.

I will be donating 10% of the profits from the sales of my socks. Each pair of socks will be linked to a charity that supports the animal on the sock. Please click on the links below to find out more about the charities I am supporting.

Turtles - The Turtle Foundation - Registered Charity Number: 1186209

"Our vision is a future where sea turtles and their habitats are sustainably protected, healthy, and safe from threat of extinction and destruction.
Our mission is to contribute to sea turtle conservation at our own project sites by cooperating with local communities to create a future where both sea turtles and people can thrive."

Amur Leopards - TIGRIS - Registered Charity Number: 1191345

A Dutch foundation founded in 1997. The first NGO to start conservation projects with a focus on Amur Leopards. The funds donated by Bare Kind will be channelled into field projects run by the Wildlife Conservation Society which include projects such as habitat management, population monitoring and an ambitious project for anti-poaching.

Orangutans - The Orangutan Foundation - Registered Charity Number: 1095660

"Saving orangutans by protecting their tropical forest habitat, working with local communities, and promoting research and education.

Our approach goes beyond that of purely protecting orangutans. It recognises that orangutans are essential to their habitat, which is unique in its rich biodiversity and is crucial for local communities, who are as dependent on the forest as the orangutans."

Bumblebees - The Bumblebee Conservation Trust - Registered Charity Number: 1115634

"The Bumblebee Conservation Trust was established because of serious concerns about the ‘plight of the bumblebee’

In the last 80 years our bumblebee populations have crashed. Two species have become nationally extinct and several others have declined dramatically."

The trust are working toward 4 key objectives:

"1 Enhance the understanding of bumblebee ecology and conservation.

2 Increase the quality and quantity of bumblebee habitat.

3 Inspire and enable a diverse range of people to take action for bumblebees.

4 Be an effective and sustainable organisation."

African penguins - South African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds - Registered Charity Number: NPO 003-134

Saving seabirds since 1968.

"SANCCOB is a registered non-profit organisation whose primary objective is to reverse the decline of seabird populations through the rescue, rehabilitation and release of ill, injured, abandoned and oiled seabirds – especially endangered species like the African penguin.

The organisation works closely with colony managers to identify birds in need of care in the wild and bring them to one of our two centres in South Africa: Cape Town (Western Cape) and Port Elizabeth (Eastern Cape)"

These next socks are all coming in April 2021:

Elephants - The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation - Registered Charity Number: 1106893

"Our mission is to FightProtect, and Engage on behalf of endangered wildlife around the world.

The elephant is one of the most iconic animals in the African savanna and yet they are being poached for their ivory at an unsustainable rate across the continent. With one elephant being killed for their tusks every 20 minutes the species is on a fast track to extinction if we do not act now."

Rhinos - Helping Rhinos - Registered Charity Number: 1175762

"Helping Rhinos is forging innovative conservation, community and education initiatives to ensure the long-term survival of the rhino and other endangered wildlife in their natural habitat.

We are working in Kenya, united with the country’s vision to reach a population of 2,000 black rhino by 2030.

We share South Africa’s mission to restore healthy populations of black and white rhino in all key conservation areas, championing the benefits of emerging technological opportunities"

Hedgehogs - British Hedgehogs Preservation Society  - Registered Charity Number: 1164542

"Founded in 1982 the British Hedgehog Preservation Society offers help and advice to those with sick, injured or orphaned hedgehogs and maintains a list of rehabilitators in the UK.

Rabbits - One Bun at a Time - Registered Charity Number: 1191439

"We help 'at risk' pet rabbits and guinea pigs in the UK get to safety via a network of Rescues, Fosterers & Transporters. We also help remove rabbits and guinea pigs from breeders/meat farms that are closing & in hoarding situations"

Whales - Whale and Dolphin Conservation - Registered Charity Number: 1014705

"Whales and dolphins face huge challenges over the coming years but WDC is determined to fight for them wherever and whenever we can. We’re not a huge organisation with limitless resource, so we’re making sure we focus our expertise and passion on the most important areas and where we believe we can make the biggest difference."

The WDC are currently focussing on these really key areas:
Ending captivity, Stopping Whaling, Creating Healthy Seas and Preventing Deaths in Net.
