5 things you should do when starting your own company - #3
Let's call this half way - you are a trooper for sticking with me. Tip number 3!
I love reading, it helps me escape. If I need some down time, I am still learning and taking in knowledge that could help me with the business (I keep a notebook by the side of my bed for any brain waves I have before I go to sleep, and these usually happen after I've been reading)
A few books I have found valuable:
- Crushing It - Gary Vaynerchuk - This book gave me the idea to create my Bare Kind' Alexa/Google App.
- Sell Like Crazy - Sabri Suby - In the middle of this one and I am learning some great insights about digital marketing (something I have never done before, but I am learning as I go along)
- The Chimp Paradox - Prof Steve Peters - This isn't actually business related but has helped me to understand my own mind and how I can get the most from it, everyone should read this book even if you don't plan to start your own company.
There isn't much more to add. Consuming knowledge from people who have done this before is just a fantastic idea. Some of these authors charge hundreds of thousands for consultations/key note speeches and you're getting to hear from them right from the comfort of your own bed.
And if reading isn't your kind of thing, no excuse - audio books, podcasts, youtube videos. Consume the content they provide for you, it's worth it.
